Influenster - IN 'n' OUT

You must have seen the various reviews for "Influenster" sent (free) products on my blog. It's time to talk about more about the site and what they do. First off, I joined Influenster back in 2012 and it's Nov 2014 and my love for Influenster has only gone up. We call ourselves a group of influencers who test and review products and make this society a better place to live in (Meh, just kidding - or not?) Getting free products is one thing, getting quality products first and letting the brands know what you think of them is a whole other thing - it's a privilege only a few have! Now that we all understand how esteemed this community is, let's talk about the site ;)

The site went under a major makeover and I must say, everything looks good after a makeover ;) The Influenster site looks more awesome now. Let's navigate through the site and see what it feels like to be inside this community.

Once you log in, you'll be taken to your dashboard that looks like this :

Pretty cool right? It tells you how good your reach is, what social networks to connect to, to increase your reach and on the left, it has some awesome features -

1. Snaps - Short one question surveys for Influenster to get to know you better and to send you a suitable VoxBox

Oh - no questions for me - I keep my answers updated for a better shot at awesomeness ;)

2. Campaigns - Each VoxBox you get goes under Campaigns that shows you the tasks you must complete to unlock more gifts from the brands themselves - Can't tell you how many brand badges I've unlocked and how many prizes I've won - Just lost count - I'm that good ;)

3. Badges - Tells you the badges you've unlocked based on which products are sent to you - your interests match the products you get. For instance, you unlock the Beauty Queen badge, you get beauty based products in your VoxBox and so on - pretty simple right?

4. VoxPerks - This is pure Influenster stuff - You get "perks" for being an influencer and get discounts off great products - here's what mine looks like:

Some awesome stuff out there - thinking of redeeming a few of those!

Now, apart from all this, the site provides SO much MORE! You can read/write reviews for umpteen number of products and stores that help other influencers decide what's good and what's not (yeah, we trust each other's words!)

On that note, we have two awesome tabs - The Hub and Reviews.

The Hub tells you what the Influenster nation is up to - what's trending and what the Influenster nation speaks/writes about - inside story sorts! I totally love this section - even when you don't have a VoxBox, you know what others are up to and you get the inside story from them.

Whereas, Reviews section (pretty clear what it's about right? ;)) gives you access to write and read reviews to a huge number of products and stores and such - you benefit others and from! (Yes, we are a helpful lot)

Influenster also provides for great support when and where you have doubts about anything through the Contact Us page. Got doubts, shoot them a mail - they'll solve your problems!

The About Us page tells you what an awesome team effort this all is from Influenster's side and also gives you access to FAQs that can help you along the way of becoming a great Influenster member.

The Why Join page gives you a million reasons on why Influenster is such an awesome community to join (like, I haven't stressed that enough ;))

Chapstick Dual Ended Hydration Lock Moisturize & Renew - Smiley 360 Review

I'm part of a testing and reviewing community called Smiley360 and they sent me a campaign offer for Chap Stick's new dual ended stick for free (got to love free stuff :))

Here's a picture of what I received as part of the campaign before I go into the details of the product! ( I got coupons as well - 5 of them)

Here's what I think of the product:

Pros

Ease Of Use : Very easy to apply and not messy

Price : Nominal ($6.99 at amazon)

Fragrance : None

Tint : None

Sticky? : No - that's the best part of this balm - goes on soooo beautifully smooth and feels amazing on your lips (while it's on - that brings me to the cons below)

P.S: Moisturize and Renew sides feel different while one applies them but I haven't noticed any difference in terms of utility/results and keep using them interchangeably! :)

Cons

Doesn't stay on for long and frequent re-application is necessary!


Overall, it's a good product but I love products that last long without much efforts on re-application and this one might not fit the bill on that! Gave it a try? Let me know what you thought of it!

Pure Silk Shaving Cream - Influenster Review

I'm here with a product review for one of the products from the Influenster VowVoxBox that I already talked about in a previous post.

It's for #PureSilk Shaving Cream - I got the one in the raspberry flavor! I'm totally in love with this cream!

Let me show you my summery legs right after using this cream :

My leg can't get any smoother than this.

Also, I tried this cream out with a blunt blade razor and a very good razor with 5 blades - Both had the same result and that was truly surprising!

Let me talk about the cream in itself:

* Consisitency - TOTALLY DREAMY - creamy and white - thick but super soft - the best I've ever seen.
* Flavor/Scent - The raspberry flavor has a scent that's extremely mild but very pleasant - I love it.
* Moisturizing - ABSOLUTELY - this has got to be the best shaving cream in terms of the moisture retained afterwards.
* Spread - Spreads like a dream! Just let your fingers glaze and you've got yourself covered in the cream - LITTLE goes a long way - seriously!
* Price - retails for $2.19(8oz) and $1.49(5oz) - which is perfectly fine for a cream of this quality! I'm hooked! - retails for much less in many stores!

I've converted from Skintimate and how! I can't believe I even used that cream - so called cream! :/

#PureSilk sticks to it's name and delivers purely silky legs perfect for the summer! Go get yourself a can - you won't be disappointed! There isn't a chance for that!

Coppertone ClearlySheer Sunscreen Range - Bzzagent review

Being a bzzagent has its perks and mine was to get free sunscreens just in time for the summer and for FREE! Got to love being a bzzagent! :)

This time the campaign was for Coppertone ClearlySheer sunscreen range! I was excited to get them of course! I have used a lot of different sunscreens up until now so I was curious as to what this could do differently! Well, I did find out!

Here's a look at what I got:

Here's what I got: 

* 2 sample sized Beach and Pool sunscreen sprays 

* 3 sample sized ClearlySheer Lotions 

* One full sized ClearlySheer Lotion

That's pretty neat and assorted right?

I loved the Beach and Pool sprays - nice flowery scent and easy to put on owing to the spray form and quickly absorbed. Protected me well through a half day out at the beach! Completely satisfied!

The ClearlySheer lotion - was amazing in that it spread really well and thin and did its job well without me looking like I had it on! Works for me! ;)

The ClearlySheer range claims to do/be the following:

• Absorbs in seconds for a clean and light feel - YES!! Totally!
• Moisturizing formulas help leave your skin soft and smooth - It was soft and smooth alright! not sure how long it moisturized!
• Won’t clog pores or cause breakouts (clinically tested on acne-prone skin) - Didn't cause any reactions/breakouts - I have sensitive skin!
• Matte finish is perfect for use under makeup - Didn't check out this aspect since I don't wear make up that much!

So, basically this is a really good range that seems to do what it claims! That works for me!

Vow Vox box from Influenster!

As you all know about Influenster from my previous posts already! I'm in love with the latest vox box I received from them! All for free! And filled with amazing products! This post would be a review of all the products from the Vow Vox Box which is aimed at brides, bridesmaids, wedding guests and wedding crashers ;) It's one awesome box and I have never been so excited for anything else and rightly so!

Here's a glimpse of what was in it followed by a detailed review:

So here's my take on the products one followed by the other:

1. Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting cream - Retails for $30.99 (yes, got it for free B-) ) - this is as dreamy as it sounds! 

Pros:

* Lovely peachy color 

* Sweet scent - nothing too over the top!

* Consistency - perfect for a moisturizing cream

* Spread - spreads really well and even and my skin absorbs it in a jiffy!

* How does it work? - works just as advertised - has evened out my tone and my face and skin look evenly brighter now - and more so by the day!

Cons:

* May be they could reduce the price ?? ;)

* None otherwise!

2. Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Barracuda - Retails for $7.99 - This box was all about the blue ;) and this color was perfectly in tune with the box! Lovely color and stays on for long compared to other polishes! No complaints there as well!

3. Riley & Grey ($240/year I believe) - They host wedding websites and beautiful professional looking ones at that. The vox box came with 50% discount for a wedding website! I wouldn't be using it but would be passing it on to a good friend! She's going to be psyched! I'm sure it's awesome! Nothing more on this one!

4. Pure Silk Moisturizing Shaving Cream - Retails for $2.19 - This was just perfect! I absolutely love everything about this shaving cream:

* purrrrfect foam - RICH lather (When I say RICH - I mean tooooo RICH) - a pea sized amount is enough for a large area!

* Moisturizes well - no itching or reactions afterwards!

* Pleasant scent

* quantity - awesome for the price! 

WOULD definitely RECOMMEND! 

5. Ecotools Pure Complexion Facial Sponge - Retails for $5.99 - Don't hate me now but I absolutely love this one toooo!!! Made with vegetable fiber called Konjac - you get a sponge that is hard as stone at first - don't panic - add water and it softens and add your favorite cleanser and go to town with it! As simple as that!

* Cleanses really well!

* Not at all harsh - I have super sensitive skin - no redness!

* Perfectly shaped like a tear drop - helps get to the nooks and corners of the face!

* Face feels smooth and soft after use!

---> May be they could give a compartment/box to store it and also let it air dry instead of leaving it out in the open - but, well, you could buy one too!

6. Tide To Go Pen - Retails for $7.99 for a 3ct pack - This is another useful product! You know those days when you spill something like sauce or chocolate syrup on a sparkling white shirt/pant and you can't do anything about it till you get home - how annoying! Gone are those days! Take the Tide to go pen  with you and you'll be alright! Clean the solids or extra liquids from the spill and press this pen until the magic liquid oozes out - cover the stain with the liquid and wait for it to dry - voila! Your stain hardly shows! How neat! obviously, it doesn't work it's charm on ink or blood ( WHAT?? WHO? :O) but the list of stains it can help with is enough! Got get yourself one if you have butter fingers!

Tone Body Wash - Bzzagent Review

Since everyone now knows what bzzagent is all about (since I've told you about the same over and over again :)), this time I received the Tone Petal Soft Body Wash for free! Yay! I was skeptical about the body wash since I hadn't heard about the range earlier but boy was my mind in for a surprise!

My bzzkit was as luxurious as the body wash :

A free Tone body wash along with generous coupons for family and friends! You've got to love bzzagent for not only loving you but also your friends and family :)

So once I got this, I tried the body wash the next day! I was blown away by every single aspect of this wash.

* Scent - The first thing you notice is the scent. It's such a pleasant gorgeous scent of flowers that every woman loves! * Consistency - Not too runny, not too thick, just right! Perfect to pour out into your hand and lather. * Lather - infinite suds - feels soft against your skin which is necessary for my sensitive skin. * Color - a gorgeous petal pink color that perfectly goes with the name of the body wash.

Here's a look at it in my hand - not very clear but you get the idea :

Get a loofah and the Tone body wash and scrub away and what you're left with is amazingly smelling and looking skin with a gorgeous scent left behind in your bath ;)

You've got to try this one and soon! They have an entire range of body washes, bath bars and foaming hand washes. The below are some more scents available:

Venus Sensitive Embrace VoxBox from Influenster!

Been away from blogging for a while and I'm getting back with a review of the newest razor in town - Venus Sensitive Embrace. The name says it all! It's a revolutionary razor for ladies with sensitive skin like me! Face it, all of us hate hair anywhere on the body where it isn't welcome! I have had my fair share of razor bumps, scars and fatal(I kid you!;)) bruises. Half the times, the reason being my delicate skin.

So, when Influenster gave me the opportunity to test this new razor, how could I refuse? I just had to test it on my sensitive skin. After all, it is made for people with my kind of skin. Here's what it looks like:

The packaging is wonderful. The color is pleasant! The pack also came with a razor hanging attachment - one that sticks to the walls. That's a plus! It has a special place in my bath now! Came with two cartridges and the handle. Also, every Venus handle goes with every other cartridge by Venus. So, that's a plus if you want to switch to another razor flavor ;)

I gave it a try and I love how my skin was not as irritated as it usually is after a shave. There were no war bruises ;) and I'm glad I gave this one a go. I'll stick to this one until I find a better one! This is totally made for my kind of skin!

Dr. Scholl's® For Her Active Series® - Influenster Review

So, as you all know I'm an Influenster and get awesome products for free for testing and reviewing purposes! S-W-E-E-T!! Ain't it? Well let me answer that for you! Yes, it totally is. My recent gift (I like to call them gifts from Influenster ;)) was Dr. Scholl's Active Series insoles! Here is what they look like :

Super cool eh? ;) Firstly, I love these insoles! Cross my heart! They are awesome for walking/ standing for long hours together. They let your feet worry about other things than pain ;) Secondly, while running, these are really awesome companions! Your feet take you farther and faster without much pain so you can concentrate on the run instead of pains and aches! Finally, I love it that these fit into any shoe and are also sleek and soft!

It's only been a few weeks since I've started using them, but I've no complaints so far! They are wonderful for people who take running and exercising seriously!

NECTRESSE - Influenster Sugar n Spice VoxBox Review

I already wrote about my Influenster Sugar n Spice Voxbox in the last few posts! I really got fixed up on all the products within it! Now the one product I really loved was my Nectresse no calorie sweetener.

I made my husband's birthday cake with it and it tasted marvelous! Really loved how the measure for sugar matched with that of Nectresse sweetener! Here's a pic of the cake I baked:

Overall I use this for my husband's daily coffee and wherever sugar comes into picture! It's great what it can do considering it doesn't add any calories, right?

A few days back, I received my Sugar n Spice VoxBox from Influenster. I'm going to talk about a specific product from the VoxBox:

I have loved the trio so far! They compliment each other and work well to give you better and brighter teeth in just a few weeks. I would definitely Colgate has proved itself as a great brand over and again; so I have no doubts whatsoever that my teeth would retain their strength while looking brighter with the use of the regimen!

 

I brush twice a day and use the mouthwash at night! Now I roam around with some serious white teeth and a brilliantly flashing smile ;) Thanks Influenster for letting me try this for free!

A few days back, I received my Sugar n Spice VoxBox from Influenster (Isn't the name fancy??)
If you don't know influenster you can find them here. It's a rewarding site that gives you a lot of goodies for free for you to give your opinions upon testing them...fancy again right?

So, where was I? Oh yes, my new VoxBox! Here's a pic of what came in it:

Let me go over each product for you:

Dickinson's Original witch hazel oil controlling towelettes ($4.99 at Walgreens): The soothing blend of Witch Hazel and aloe in our facial wipes rejuvenates your skin by gently lifting dirt, oil and impurities from your pores while nourishing even the most sensitive skin. The result is a clean, refreshed and blemish-free complexion – naturally! They really remove the makeup that's on - beware! But the result is a clean and fresh looking face!

NECTRESSE no calorie sweetener($3.49): tastes like sugar and is naturally
zero calories per serving. They started with the deliciously
sweet extract of monk fruit and combined it with the perfect
blend of other natural sweeteners. It's 100% natural with
nothing artificial. You're going to love the way it tastes!!

Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer($5.99 at Target): I was super excited about this product and I can't stress enough on how much I'm loving it! It encourages the lazy me to stop going over moisturizing by just getting absorbed wherever you aim it at! How neat! I love IT!!

Colgate Optic White Regimen($18 Value) that includes Toothbrush, Mouthwash and Toothpaste: This has really whitened my teeth and visibly. I'm going to continue using this for a few more weeks and possibly would end up buying this going forward! Really makes your teeth look whiter and feel fresher! All three products in this regimen compliment each other and work great!

Last, but never the least, BelVita Breakfast Biscuits: You can find this at many stores in various packages. Love these biscuits for both their taste and health value! Nothing more can be said! I'm buying more of these and SOON!

Hey everyone!

This is going to be a makeup blog post; something I've fallen in love with of late! I was lucky enough to get into the Neutrogena Cosmetics campaign through bzzagent.com ( I've been rambling about this site in my previous posts, fyi!) and I was eagerly awaiting my BzzKit last week while others had posted about the amazing stuff within! And last week guess who made a guest appearance :

Isn't that wonderful quality free stuff to test?? I was super excited to try them all out the next day and to my surprise Neutrogena lives upto it's name! All products were absolutely amazing! Let me go over each one separately:

* MoistureSmooth Color Sticks - Amazingly moisturizing and little shimmery to give your lips a glossy finish! Absolutely great stuff! I got the Sweet Watermelon color (Wouldn't have been my first choice since I prefer darker colors and the range of colors available is great) and the color is a very subtle pink and glides over SMOOTHLY onto your lips - Believe me when I say that there was absolutely no sticky residue at all and the best part is the color and moisture stays on for around four hours which is great and also, it has made my lips naturally soft with very less chapping! It Has a fruity smell about it! Not sure if that's watermelon - but who cares? I would definitely recommend this product to every lady out there!


* Crease Proof Eye Shadows - Live upto their name! Stellar performance - glide on smoothly without any efforts and also are easy to apply even for beginners and especially help those ladies on the go! I love how i can find no crease whatsoever on my eyes after hours of staying out without re-application! I usually use powder eye shadows and I love them too but these take the cake - no powder substance falling in and around your eyes and absolutely easily applicable with a stick like body! Get one and try it yourself!


* Healthy Lengths Mascara - A dream come true for every woman with short or almost no eyelashes! Absolutely thickens and elongates lashes like it claims! Great Work Neutrogena even though I might not be absolutely awed by it since my lashes are already very long(touch wood ;))


Overall, I love my Bzzkit and would recommend ladies out there to try out the above mentioned product line by Neutrogena! I'll post pics in my next blog post!

The Taste: Tuesday at 8|7c on ABC

Hello all,

I'll be talking about a cooking and competition show on ABC - The Taste! Let me tell you what the show is all about first! The Taste begins with blind auditions of both professional and amateur cooks during which four judges, who double as mentors, taste one spoonful of food from each contestant prior to knowing who cooked it or what all the ingredients are. Each judge decides whether or not they would like the contestant on his or her team by pressing a button (green for yes or red for no); the buttons are hidden from the other judges (although some decisions are revealed to the home audience). The four then meet the contestant and press a button to reveal their votes. If exactly one judge votes yes, that contestant automatically joins that judge's four-member team.If more than one judge votes yes, the contestant chooses among them.
Once the 16 contestants are chosen, each episode consists of team and individual challenges with various themes. Each episode ends with the mentors tasting all the competitors' dishes without knowing what it is, how it was prepared, who created it, or whom they will be eliminating. The contestant with the worst bite of food is eliminated from the competition.

The judge panel includes Anthony Bourdain, Ludo Lefebvre, Brian Malarkey and Nigella Lawson! Ain't that some sophistication? I love the show for the dishes shown and also for the honesty of both the judges and the participants! If you like cooking and/or a foodie, this show is just for you! Check it out on Tuesdays at 8|7c on ABC! It's a great show!

Glade Expressions - BzzAgent!

I was super excited when I got into the Glade Expressions Campaign from BzzAgent (you guys know about this; I have a post on this). But I would be wrong if i thought that was the best level of excitement I could be in! Because, the day I got the Glade Expressions kit by mail, that was it! I was super excited. Schick Hydro Silk - BzzAgent

Guess what arrived in my mail today??? Well, the title gives it away :/ ;) It was the BzzAgent BzzKit for the Schick Hydro Silk Campaign. I freaked out, well positively ;), on seeing the kit. It was AMAZING!!! They sent a Razor with two cartridges! And to top that they sent me EIGHT $5 off coupons on purchase of a single razor! Isn't that absolutely generous? Well, I'm gonna start right away and bzz about it to friends and family! This is absolute fun! The campaign is open for another 40 more days or so and that many days of bzzing is only going to get me into more amazing campaigns! I can't wait to get started!

I have been using Schick Hydro Silk razor for months now and I won't change! Well, it's a great product! Keeps your hands and legs well hydrated during and after shaving and curves on your bends so well that you can absolutely forget razor cuts or burns! Change to this one and you'll never change to another razor for sure! This is the best one in the market ladies!

Only Shick Hydro Silk razors have Water- Activated Moisturizing Serum to hydrate you skin for up to two hours after shaving and 5 curve sensing blades with skin guards to help reduce irritation!! I received the Holiday VoxBox from Influenster during Christmas time- December 2012 and it came as a pleasant surprise to me! I'm going to be talking about a specific product I received:

Goody QuikStyle hair brush :

It's an amazing fit to your hair dressing accessories. You know how bad blow drying is for your hair..so why not take a step to abolish it when it's not very much needed; like a day when you're home and have time to let your hair air-dry? I did it! and I felt good! My hair fall has lessened. This product claims what it can do and does it well.

The microfiber in the brush keeps the brush clean(no hair tangling), is good to your hair(not harsh) and also dries your hair pretty well. I start combing it when it's not dripping wet and it dries it out very well in about an hour or so with intermittent combing. Give it a try! I would definitely recommend it!

 Pros:

How it helps your hair dry. Lose the blow dryer and use this instead.

Cons:

I hear brushing wet hair is bad for your hair. Though it only helps my hair!

Verdict :

Totally worth owning one! Go get yourself one :)

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

I received the Holiday VoxBox from Influenster during Christmas time- December 2012 and it came as a pleasant surprise to me! I'm going to be talking about a specific product I received:

NYC Liquid LipShine:

It's an amazing fit to your makeup accessories. I received the nude lip shade and it's awesome. It lets me flaunt my natural lip color with a flush of shine to it. It's a nice add to your makeup wants. Give it a try! I would definitely recommend it!

Pros:

Enhances lip color and adds a sheer shine to it.
No sticky residue.
Glides smoothly.

Cons:

I can't seem to find any :)

Verdict:

Montagne Jeunesse Face Masque

It's an amazing fit to your makeup accessories. I received the chocolate mask deep cleansing and it's awesome. It freshens my face with a chilly feeling to it. Not to mention, the amazing chocolate smell to it. Love this mask; especially, since I'm a chocolate person ;) Going to buy more of this once I run out of it. Give it a try! I would definitely recommend it!

Have a look at what I got:

Pros:

An amazing face mask with a super chocolate smell to it.
Cools the face and evens it out.
Deeps cleanses.

Cons:

I did break out a bit after using it but I'm not sure whether it was a result of this or something else I used. I'm a bit acne prone, so I'm guessing you can use this twice in one week or so just to be sure.

Verdict:

Give it a try! Hope you won't have bad reactions to it!
